I have a question... because I continue to be baffled. I have met some AMAZING ladies on here, how look absolutely INCREDIBLE! Many of them have lost drastic amounts of weight... 50, 60, 100+ lbs! And they all look all toned up, and I barely notice any extra skin at all!!

I have lost 162 lbs my first go around. I have gained 40lbs back in the 3.5 years I have been married, I am here to drop those 40 lbs again...

I see all of these incredible women on here that lost a TON of weight, but still have beautiful bodies while I look like I have been rolled out of the Playdough factory. Now mind you, I have gained weight back, so I understand, but even at my smallest (136lbs), I was sooo flabby. You can't even see my belly button because I have skin that hangs over it..

I guess my mistake was not working out when I lost the 162 lbs the first time... I was a full time college student with a part time job, and just didn't have the time. I am wondering now if anything can be done? I know I won't completely be able to get rid of all of it... but maybe tone some of it out?? To you beautiful ones out there, what did you do to prevent the extra skin??? What kind of workouts? Any advice at all? Thanks to you all!!!

sorry I'm not much help but just wanted to say I've lost almost 100 and I too have the playdough factory look and I HAVE worked out the entire time I've lost my weight. I think some of it is genetics, some is age, some is speed of loss (the faster, the more loose skin you will have). I lost 95 in 6 months so maybe that's why. But now over a year later, the skin hasn't changed. I'm trying to get off more weight now but will likely need surgery for at LEAST my arms (really would "need" it for tummy and inner thighs too but since people don't see those I probably won't spend the money). You can work your butt off to tone but it may or may not work for the excess skin.

I can't be much help either, as I'm one of those ladies that the whole of their body s like play dough, but I'm healthily. I have exercised right the way thru my weightloss so I can only assume its genetics or plastic surgery LOL

I think part of it is genetics. Just continue to stay hydrated and do strength training to help yourself as much as possible. Also, I think slower weight loss is helpful. I have lost about 70lbs (still 40 to go) and I don't have much sagging skin. However, I wasn't very fluffy even when I was bigger (didn't have a lot of rolls around my mid-section, just big). I know different people put the weight on differenly.

I saw a new procedure on the doctors the other day too that can help with loose skin that doesn't involve surgery. The before and after pics looked promising, so I figured if I don't like certain things 6-12 months after I get to my goal, then I can look into that option if it still bothers me.
