Personal Trainer Questions?

I am looking into getting a trainer at my local YMCA. I want to start a heavy lfting program and think having a professional tailor one to me and teach/ensure proper form is the best way to go.
What questions would you ask to make sure you are getting a good trainer and a match?

Ask their background. Who do they think benefits from low rep/high weight lifting and who do they think benefits from low weight/high rep lifting?
I would also emphasize that you want to gain strength. Even if this may not be your real priority, if the PT hears this, they may be less inclined to do some stupid "toning" routine.0 -
I'd look for someone who competes in what ever you are looking to train in. They will have first hand knowledge on how to complete your goals.0
