The best is yet to come!!

I started this journey nearly a year ago, in April, fell off the wagon by June but got back on July and have been committed to this lifestyle change ever since. I did falter over the holidays, but life is meant to be lived and enjoyed.

I started C25K in June and have grown to love running. I am about to start my 5th week of Ease Into Bridge to 10k. I love the peace of mind I get with running, that "alone" time I have out there on the greenbelt trails. Not totally alone as I am usually listening to one of the books of the Outlander Series by Diana Gabaldon, Jamie and Claire are always with me. ;) Some days I am running from a problem, some days running to a conclusion and other days I'm just plain running.

I've also grown to love Yoga. Right now I am using Jillian Michael's Yoga Meltdown and Gaiam's Yoga DVD for beginners. Someday I'll take a class. I am seeing my body transform thanks to Yoga and have recently realized I can touch my toes, something I have NEVER been able to do. My goal is someday to lay my hands flat on the floor!

Along this journey I've also learned I don't need to starve myself to lose weight. I am learning to eat healthier, eat in a manner that I can live the rest of my life with and maintain this weight. I've been overweight since the birth of my first son and he will be graduating in May. You can bet your bottom dollar I will happily shop for a dress to wear to his graduation! I've got one I love and haven't been able to wear since he was a baby. Someday I will try it on, but not yet.

You see, the best of me is yet to come. I have learned much but there is so much more left to learn. Three years ago I would have never guessed I'd love being a preschool teacher, but I fell into it and love it. And every now and then, there's this voice in my head whispering about the diet and fitness industry. Could that be for me?? I don't know, if it is meant to be it will. Right now, I think about it and wonder where I would fit into it or maybe it's just meant to be brought into my preschool class. I did recently teach my kiddos some basic yoga positions and they LOVED it! It also helped them refocus on our daily lesson. Yoga has so many benefits for all of us at any age.

Yes, the best of me is yet to come. I am feeling more positive these days, happier and healthier than I can ever recall.

So friends, this journey isn't easy, in fact some days in can be down right difficult, but stay the course. Make good choices and find exercise you can enjoy and love.

The best of YOU is yet to come!!
