I used to jog all the time in HS (10+ years ago!) and now I want to try and get back in it and have no idea where to start! Does anyone have any advice????

    1) Get yourself a comfortable pair of running shoes that fit well.
    2) Put on some comfortable clothes
    3) Go outdoors
    4) Depending on your current fitness level you may want to start with walking or a combination of walking and running (eg, 10 min walk 1 min run) and gradually increase the number of minutes you can run until the proportion is reversed (10 min run 1 min walk) then start, again gradually, extending the running times. You may find that you stay with a run/walk combination (I've seen some pretty impressive half marathon times using run 10 walk 1 - but when they're running, they're running).

Ultimately the amount you run each week is going to be based solely on your goals, if you're running purely for cardiovascular health you should shoot for a minimum of 20 minutes at least 3 times a week (adding in strength training is also really good for your health too) but I'll warn you........running is addictive, first you run a 5k, the next thing you know you're on to a 10k and then half-marathon....

    Have fun!

I had never done any type of cardio till after I had my second son. Then I just started slow I really tried to listen to my body and not do to much at a time. I knew I couldnt do a 5k so I tried to go my own pace. I heat the couch to 5k is amazing. But I just wanted to be able to jog!
