Almond Butter vs. Peanut Butter

So we got some Marantha Creamy All Natural Roasted Almond Butter at the grocery store a few days ago. Thought it would be worth a try. I don't like it. To me, it tastes like stale Peanut Butter. Any suggestions to eating this? It's not horrible when I spread it on apple slices, so I'm guessing the sweetness offsets that "taste". Don't get me wrong, I love almonds. But as far as peanut butter....I'm a Jif person. I love Jif. it's sweet! I love, though, the fact that this almond butter has no sodium in it. Am I just odd for thinking it tastes weird? lol

Comparing almond butter to Jif isn't really a fair comparison, as Jif contains sugar. When I first switched to all-natural peanut butter (like Adams), it took me a while to get used to the taste. But now peanut butters like Jif taste way too sweet and I appreciate the more natural, earthy flavor of natural PB.

If you keep eating the almond peanut butter you might grow to like it. Maybe keep eating it on apples, or maybe use some in a fruit smoothie.

I never thought about using it in a smoothie....We ended up sprinkling a little cinnamon on the apple slices too and the kids loved it that way. I guess I will just play with it and hopefully grow to love it :-) Thanks for letting me know that it wasn't all in my head though with the difference
