in general to lose / gain weight (say 1 pound/ wk) 3500 + or - needs to be created for whichever goal. knowing that heres my stats: sw - 100 cw - 108. GW- 112 rmr - 1324 bmr- 1580 (saying i never did anything) 1800 (3 days exercise) 2000 (5 days exercise)
before i was only consuming maybe 1100 calories, most times netting id say 800-1000 calories &working out 1.5 hours cardio everyday NOW (i run almost everyday still , 20 min tops, + weights 2x per week sunday is rest day tech so only a mile then) anyways my net calories have gone up to about 1400 ive been trying to log 1700 consistently before adding my exercise
i should gain weight though at first with my metabolism adjusting correct? if i was only tech. logging 1000 before & now logging the 1700 + or so that would be more than 500 / day & more then my body was use to allowing a surplus? & if that surplus was 3500 a pound would be gained?
(i know i should be logging 1800-2000 or so per day havent made it there yet ) but it crossed my mind because a calorie is a calorie. & i was wondering if it would work like that at first, then once my body was use to that the weight would maintain?

You may gain a little at first, but it will be water, not fat.
