My Journey with a face pic comparison

This is my 2nd go around on MyFitnessPal. I originally signed up in January of 2011 when I weighed in at my highest weight ever @ 310 lbs. I was always in my upper 200's ever since high school, and I never thought of myself as obese until I saw the scale hit over 300. That is when the bells went off in my head and reality set in. That is when I knew I had to do something. I had a family now and a child that needed me around for him. It was time to grow up and take on life without the crutch of food.
Doing nothing for my health and keeping the path I was leading with eating fast food for breakfast, lunch, snack, and sometimes even dinner and smoking up to 2 packs of cigarettes a day was going to lead to a very very early death. I started MFP in January of 2011 and by October 31, 2011, I had lost 73 lbs. I was playing drums again daily and getting back into boxing. I felt great.
From Novemeber 1, 2011 - March 1, 2012 I did not track anything with MFP and I managed to put back on 25 pounds with the holidays and when I finally gave up those damn 2 packs a day cigarettes. Best thing I ever did was quit smoking. It has been 3 months now since I put the cigarettes down for good and never picked them up again. I am back now on MFP to finish what I started. I have another 72 lbs. to go to reach my goal weight of 185. I am even more determined now to reach my goals and start to train to run a full marathon within a year.
I am not one to usually post a so-called success story because I have a long way to go, but what I want to stress is that if I can do it, anyone can. I was one of the most lazy, unhealthiest person that I knew. As long as you have the want, you will have the will to do it. I love to encourage and support others who are currently in their weight loss journey as well. Add me if you want some support and encouragement. Good luck to everyone.

First - give us a smile man!
Second - you look like a really neat bloke. My first husband was huge and smoked heavily. He managed to quit smoking after about 10 yrs but just slowly got larger. As he got larger, bits of our lives went down the drain because he didn't want to do them.
Feeling a little bittersweet but very happy for you and wish you all the best. You're a decent young man and you've gone the hard yards to prove it. Well done.0 -

Thanks for all the compliments.
As far as the smile, yeah I should have at least cracked a grin for the second pic, but I was at work taking it with my phone and I didn't want someone to walk by seeing me smiling at my phone. :blushing:0 -
