I have always had a love affair with food! Especially all those yummy carbs....pasta...cheese...mixed together....Yum! I was always eating, weather it was because I was bored, sad, happy, stressed...you name it. Food seem to always find it's way to my mouth. So since I start this new life change AGAIN, I noticed something new. My stomach growls very LOUD almost everyday even when I'm not hungry. Hmmm...... So I looked up why this is happening.
Why the stomach growls ".....if there's food in your stomach or small intestine, the growling becomes quieter. It's like putting a pair of sneakers in the dryer by themselves versus with a load of towels. The towels muffle the noise of the shoes as they bounce around."
OK...so because I ALWAYS had food in my stomach aka the "towels" it muffled the noise....lol Does this happen to anyone else??

My stomach sometimes growls now because I am gassy. It's all the fiber I am eating now as opposed to before. Also, oranges set me off. So, my stomach ends up making tons of noise. I finally went and bought a bottle of Phazyme and one gelcap calms things down considerably.
My soul dog, who unfortunately went over the rainbow bridge 7 years ago, had several bloat incidents. Even after permanent belt loop gastropexy, and being on the same kind of food, stress used to make his stomach and intestines fill up with air. So, he'd get a phazyme every time I suspected there might be even the least amt of stress for him. It always deflated him. So, I have a loyalty to the brand.
Try something that reduces gas for you and you might notice a reduction in noise.0 -

Yeah, mine growls when it's hungry too!! But I just never noticed it before I started MFP. Maybe I need to eat more often??? It could be the extra fiber, damn fiber one brownies....LOLOL0

I know this is a couple months old but since I have changed my diet and joined MFP, I was noticing how much more my stomach growled now. It was nice to be able to search and come up with some possible answers to this dilemma. I know I am not hungry because I am eating the proper amounts now as opposed to before.
So thanks for the info!0
