Do you find it harder to exercise on the weekends?

I have always found it to be more difficult because of the schedule changes. Anyone else? Do you vary your weekend exercise routines to help with this, or do you just rest more then?

Actually I exercise more on the weekends because I have more free time. Its different for everyone, if you have less time on the weekends just kick it up a notch during the week!

I find the weekend brings me different challenges, kids are all home for one. I tend to go running with my jogging stroller, or rollerblading with the older kids and the youngest in a stroller. We play soccer on the fields behind our home, we have skipping rope competitions, one minute intervals, one foot, fast/slow, we mix it up with pushups, whoever wins gets to divide up the next day chore list. We do the Wii fit, again it's all about competition here! Dance, dance revolution is big ith the gals inmy home. We play basketball out front, usually the whole neighbourhood gets involved. I go bike riding on the trails with the older kids, we have our own tennis courts in our yard so we play often...I find that I burn mega calories on the weekends, and it's actually fun! Once we can open our pool, swimming and diving competitions will be on the agenda.

I find with my daughter around on weekends it is a little more difficult. However, she sleeps in on weekends so I just get up early and workout before she wakes up. That way also, it doesn't get in the way of any other plans and there is no fitting it in.

Some weekend I am so busy with church and gatherings that I can't find time to exercise at all. Then some weekends, I can play with the kids, take our dog for a walk for hours and love it when my husband goes fishing because then my 16 year old daughter and I go hiking. It's so fun... I wish I can do it a couple times a week.

I tend to work out more on the weekends because I have more time and I am not rushing home from work to make dinner. Plus, I have way more energy on a saturday afternoon around 1pm, then I do on a weekday at 8pm after dinner.

Usually all of my friends are doing other things on weekends, and I tend to be a homebody. So, weekends mean extra jogs, bikerides, hikes, etc by myself. However I tend to have an issue with eating correctly on weekends. Either way too much, or way too little.

I hate my Saturday Cardio sessions and its not because its Saturday but because by the time Saturday comes my muscles are screaming from my week of weight training and I am extremely sore-
But I always push through it.

If you find your normal workouts are harder on saturdays- Try doing something else rollerblade/go skating (if you have kids that are 4yrs old or older and know how to skate its a fun thing to do with your kids as well) Or go for a bike ride (that can me done with the family) Or go for walks --

I like working out on Saturday because I am able to spend more time doing it. Sunday we do our laps around disneyland for our exercise so that is always fun!

I enjoy working out on the weekends. I also like to drink alchol so I need some exercise calories to work it off fri/sat.
  • YES I find it ALOT harder, thats why the weekends are my days off! =) That way I dont have to stress and feel guilty for not getting to my work out!

I'm with the group that enjoys working out on the weekends.

I have a 2+ hour round trip (100 miles) to and from work so I'm up at 4:15am, get home at 5:30pm and am usually done working out by 7pm. Having to be up that early, I'm usually in bed by 9:30pm so I'm kinda rushed for time during the week.

Weekends allow me to work out when I want to.

Hey .... I went to the gym and swimming today too! What a coincidence! I actually find the weekends better for exercise too. Eating doen't seem to be a problem on weekends except for the popcorn at the movies yesterda ( no butter)

I tend to workout more on the weekends. My husband is off the weekends so he watches our 2 kids while I exercise for 2 hours. But i do find eating healthy  is harder for me on the weekends. Does anyone agree?

I work every other weekend --on call---so don't do much on those days. On the weekends I am off I go swimming for 90 minutes and walk. During the work week I walk EVERY day---4 miles in the morning and try for another 3-4 in the evening.

I also take weekends off for the most part. I try to hit the gym at least 4 days Monday through Friday. With the kids being home and other things to do, I don't even try to get to the gym over the weekend. I will still try and take a few mile walk most weekend mornings, but if I don't, well, I don't.

I only just joined myfitness about 2 weeks ago and I am finding that weekends are devastating to my whole week of exercise and eating healthy! I haven't worked out at all this weekend and I ate junk food both days ! UGH.

There are so many variables to deal with on the weekend!! I try to exercise daily, but if other things get in the way, so be it. Same thing with eating. I try to eat right, but I am not that strict on the weekend. Actually, doing things differently (eating & exercising) on the weekend is a nice change from the usual weekday routine!

That's pretty much how I feel.

I usually don't workout on weekends. Sometimes, I'll take a walk or do some light lifting, but generally, my weekends are busy with family and church and friends.

I get up early and ride my bike for a couple of hours. But then I have the rest of the day with nothing to do. The housework and yardwork is done. I usually just vegitate in front of the tv and then end up eating too much. Weekends are hard for me.

i actually find it more easier to work out on weekend, it relaxes me and sets the trend for the upcoming week. weekdays are a hassle fo rme, because i commute and would have to get up at 5 am to go work out,so the weekends are easier for me

Sunday is always a rest day for me, but Saturday is when I just try to get a little more creative with exercise. If I can do something that involves the family, that's ideal. I'll sometimes have us go to a park that has running trails nearby so the kids are having fun in the sun while I'm running. Or I'll have my son join me on the workout stations at the park. Or sometimes I'll just adjust my Saturday exercise based on what I'll be doing that day. I can't do a full workout and do rigorous yard work on the same day. Either way I'm sure to get a good burn that day in one way or another. I just try to mix it up a little since I have a little more time.

It's not necessarily harder for me on the weekends, but if I go 2 or more days w/out exercising in a row, that's when it becomes difficult!!

Yes because the gym closes so early on the weekends and I don't get off work until after the gym closes. ):
