Diet recommendations.... Losing too fast.

Did I seriously just type that? I never thought it would be an issue to lose weight too fast!
So here's a little background, I'm 5'9", starting weight was 206.6. I did multiple diets to get the first 30 off then I switched to counting calories. I started at 1200 cal and lost the recommended weight each week. Then stalled out for over a month at 168#. I up'd my calories to 1400 calories a month ago and now I have lost 10 pounds in the last month.
I typically don't eat back my exercise calories unless I'm hungry.
The reason I ask is because the whole point of doing all this is to create a healthier version of myself, which I feel if losing too quickly defeats the purpose.
What are your thoughts?

I think it just proves if you eat less you lose. Congrats on your loss. Keep up the good work.0

If I read correctly, shes not eating less, she's eating more since she up'd her calorie intake to 1400 calories instead of 1200??0

???? I'm eating 200 cal more0 -
Has your activity level changed?0

do you think 10 lbs in a month is too much? I think that would be the top end of a healthy amount to lose when you've got weight to lose.. sounds amazing to me!! I'm sure your body will level out again when you get where it's comfortable.0

10 lbs over a month is fast, but not scary fast and will pretty surely slow down again soon, i say enjoy it while it lasts.
first 3 months for me, 30 lbs loss or so, last 6 months, 16 lbs.0 -
You're gonna get a whole bunch of different opinions on here. I think losing 10lbs in a month is fine. Was always told losing 2lbs a week is ok. You have to play with the calories to see what works for you because everyone is different but you seem to be doing ok. Good luck!0

Congrats on that! I don't think you've lost too fast... I've lost 20 in a month when I first went low carb two years ago for a fatty liver, and my doctor said it would happen.
Fast forward to today... I've lost about 5 pounds in the last two weeks after finding out I was intolerant to gluten. I contribute it to water weight, but it's still a loss and I've lose some inches from working out.
Don't question it! You're not starving yourself by any means and you're working out. Take it as one of those nice blessings. Just keep up whatever you're doing!0 -

I meant eating less then you did before you started your journey.0 -
It seems everyone says eat more to lose more, and always try to hit your numbers.
Its a concept I just cant grasp... yet...
Im always at a deficit - and get the "warning" from mfp a couple times a week.
But the weight is coming off more slowly than I'd like.
Again, in concept, if I eat more, I might lose more.
But my mind says, (for example) if you'll lose at 1800 cal. then you'll lose more at 1200 cal.
Its an ongoing battle...0 -
My understanding is 2#/ week if you have more to lose, for those who have less to lose .5-1#/week.
I'm closing in on my goal weight and losing 2+ pounds per week doesn't seem right for being so close to goal.
Don't get me wrong it does feel hard to complain considering just a month ago I couldn't lose anything. But like I said the ultimate goal is me getting healthy. I truly dont care how long this takes, this is my new lifestyle, so there ultimately is no end for me. I just want to be healthy.0
