Calorie reccomendation

Just wondering................... if I eat until satistfied throughout the day, but don't meet my suggested calorie level, should I eat something, even if I'm not hungry??? I've gotten pretty good at training myself to stop eating when I'm full, and sometimes I think your body should tell you how many calories you really need, by letting you know when you're hungry. Thoughts? Suggestions?? What do you do?
