I was mind-blown yesterday. So I had some coupons so I went to VS and tried some on. They just didn't fit right, I noticed for a bit now my bras were fitting weird but I didn't think much of it, I have several bras from VS and Aerie. I gave them back to the girl at the dressing room and she asked if I'd been fitted, I said no so she fitted me. I thought I was having an issue with band size but she said it was cup size and that I should be in the 36DD or maybe a 36D and I was wearing 36C's.

Has anyone else had this happen? I tried on the 36DD and D and she was right, they fit much better. I think I am going to go back and get another since I have to exchange one anyway since I found defect in it. But still, that's insane. I didn't think I was a DD, you always thing massive when you think of that size :/

HA HA HA I used to love Victoria Secrets.. I go in there only to buy my undies. I have had them measure me, and every time they tell me I measure at a DD. Well then I try on a DD and ha ha ha on them, I NEVER fit in their bras. I am a 36G... Im thinking they need to re train their "bra specialists" on how to measure!!! LOL

Here's the website that I use to get my size and it's pretty accurate for me.

Very seldom ladies get properly fitted for a bra. It seems to be a lost tradition as stores used to offer them, now you have to ask for them, and then pray you get someone who actually knows what they are doing. If you get properly fitted, you will be surprised as to what your real size is!

It is so important to get sized! I haven't been sized since August, and I probably should be again, but I haven't!

Sometimes even after being sized, you don't wear the size they say you are too. Each style fits so differently! I was measured at VS and JCP- both had a different size. When I try on the sizes they say, they don't fit like they should.

yea the girl said I would wear either a d or dd depending on the style. The strapless I got a DD in and it fits great, but in another bra I got a D because there was too much room up top in the DD, that may have been because that was a full coverage bra I got for t-shirts though.I usually go for a demi or balconet style

    I though I was a 40DD, turned out I was a 38F. Yikes! That was a few years ago, now that I've lost weight I'm a 38D, which is just right :)

I went to VS to get a bra. I had already been told by Nordstorm that I was a 38DD. The VS girl told me a 38C would be best. I can't wear the 50 dollar bra because I am literally spilling over. It looks disgusting.

Oddly enough, I went through this yesterday at VS as well, maybe I saw you there? :)

I went in looking for a bra for a special dress and came out with one that actually fit properly! I have never felt comfortable in my bras, and now I know why.

I was forcing myself into a 42DD and it turns out I'm actually a 38F. I have never felt such a comfy bra when until I found one in my size. It's disturbing really that I've been wearing the wrong size for 30+ years! I feel your pain! It really is worth every woman's trip to get properly fitted.

Sometimes VS employees are good with sizing, some are not. I had one hold the tape several inches off my chest and proclaim me a 42B. Good luck shoving my 38DD nursing boobs into a bra that size lol.

I intend on getting measured soon, but I want to be closer to my goal. I'm thinking I will go to VS during the weekday sometime-reason being that in my experience the employees who have been working in retail longest tend to be the ones who work those hours. I hate uncomfortable bras!

Even if you are not plus-size, Lane Bryant does really wonderful bra fitting. I used to work there and we really try to do that well. I would suggest even trying there. Even if you are not large enough to buy bras there, they are really good!

In general, VS sucks with sizing. Go to Nordstrom's or Dillard's or a nice independent lingerie shop to get a proper fitting.

Also, they do this above your clothes, so I don't think that is a very accurate measurement.

i don't even know what size im supposed to be, but i love the way my boobs look in the bras i wear now, they are a little smaller in the cup so they looks really pushed up, without getting quad boob
  • I will second the recommendation of an independent lingerie shop. They do the absolute best sizing at those. Or take your measurements and try the calculator linked earlier. And be willing to try on different sizes. I almost always take a 32D, 34C, and 34D back with me in each style I like to see which one gives me the best fit. I'm sized as a 32D and that's what I get the most often, but sometimes one of the other sizes fits better in a particular style.

Also, remember that they cannot ever force you to buy a bra. If you don't like the way you look or feel in it, don't buy it.

ppl do this all the time. They think they are smaller than they really are. I got fitted a long time ago. You don't want the top of your boobs hanging out which I see all the time! It's a big pet peeve of mine lol. Especially if I see friends like that. You don't have the smooth look and draws guys eyes right to your chest when you are spilling out of your bra. Whenever you gain or lose weight you should be re-fitted also. you may go down or up a size and the band will change in size also

I get all my bra's from Lane Bryant! They are comfy, do great fittings and they are a lot cheaper than VS.

I lucked out and got someone amazing when I got sized. I never had large breasts so I figured I could deal with the cheap ones. Holy moly boobs! Love my VS bras. Especially with weight loss.

No more crying myself to sleep as I watch my cup size shrink.

Same exact thing happened to me when I was about 22. I was wearing a 34C and noticed I was always tugging in the middle of my bra and pulling it down. VS fitted me and I am a 34D... I think it is normal for women to increase boob size into their 20's.

Its important especially whilst loosing weight and exercising to keep getting measured.$ amazing how often your bra size changes. Expensive as you loose weight but essential. X

I was fitted for a strapless bra at an old Lingerie boutique. The elderly woman took several measurements and I found out I was a 32C, not a 34B.

It made quite a difference! The wire didn't slice into my breast and the attachment wasn't riding up my back! The downside is that 32C is rare in Victoria or La Senza stores but available online. At the store, the 18 year old clerk told me she didn't have 32C and tried to sell me a 34B.

If the back of the bra isn't parallel to the ground, you've got the wrong bra size!

I was a 36B. Well I got my boobs done (after breastfeeding 6 kids, I deserved it) anyway, I had the lady at Dillards size me...34DDD. What this means...all these years, I had been wearing a 36B, it was probably the wrong band size the whole time. I should have been wearing a 34B!

AND, I teach Zumba and you would be surprised at how many women do NOT protect their boobs with the right size bras. I can tell because those girls are bouncing EVERY WHERE!! A correct fitting sports bra (band size and cup size) will hold those boobs in nice and tightly!!
  • Happened to me, but with the band size. I went to Aerie and tried on a 34B, and was heart broken when I couldn't fit into it. I'm barely a B, so I knew it was the band size. I was humiliated and didn't wanna go find a 36B, so I just said I didn't like any of the bras and left.
    Now, I'm a 32B. Heck yeah!
