I just started today 100 pushups in 6 weeks! I was able to do a total of 12 but not in a row! 2-4 at a time! With a break inbetween!

I used to be able to do 35 straight manly! and then I had to take some time off so I am working back up. What I usually do is every morning I do a set of how ever many I can do and if I have time do another set just depends. I used to come to work early and before my coworkers get into work I will do a set or two.

I have never tried doing them until failure, but have started doing 15, then 14, 13, 12 and so on down to 1 mixed up with other exercises so 120 in one session.

Think I will try and do them to failure just to see how many :-)

Aren't you using different muscles there? Or slightly different anyway? :x

Can do 80 in sets. Using one of those apps to slowly get myself upto 150 continuous pushups. When I started about 6 weeks ago, I could do max of 30 in sets, before my arms just could not push. There are many apps but I am using the one from www.rittr.com

Proper form, and in one continuous set = 60 (in approx 1 minute)

The difference between a sprinter and a marathoner. Muscle endurance is my guess. Killer bench though!

Hmmmmm. You should be an olympian. That is pretty badass if it is true.

No need to bullsh!t anyone. There are no prizes here. You'd be surprised how good you can get when you regularly do them. With only a few weeks practice, I've been able to get to 100 without dropping a knee. Sorry if you don't believe.

It's much easier for lighter people - they are "pushing up" a lot less weight.

Like you said. No need to bullshit. Good for you, but I just don't believe it. Maybe I'm wrong, maybe I'm not.

At the moment, thirty-five in a row.
If I do them in sets of twenty-five with a short rest in between each set, I can hit seventy-five.

Edited to add: The odd thing is, I've always thought of myself as having poor upper-body strength, but push-ups have never been much of a problem for me. It might be because I'm fairly lightweight, but I really don't know.

Did a ton of cardio today, so I'm a bit shot but just busted out 51 with good form and no pauses. I bet I could press quite a few more when I'm not out of gas. Might be a neat goal to log - try to get to 100 or something.
