So I've been hampered by two injuries... 1) sprained my wrist being stupid with heavy weights and 2) quad injury of some sort playing soccer. The wrist sprain is 2 weeks and slooooowly getting better. I'm very limited in what weights i can do. The quad injury I can only feel while trying to run hard/sprint.

Anyone with a quad injury?... how long do these take to get better? I don't feel it walking or slow jogging (which is really boring imo). I did some squats and ski squats and didn't feel it. I did leg curls and leg presses monday and didn't feel it. But lunges and sprinting ..i can feel some pain. Do I just keep pushing through or do I have to rest the leg completely...no running/squats/etc.

How / what do others do to get passed injuries ...and can you do it without bringing the workouts to a halt?

I got a couple of strains in my legs recently - they took a couple of months to heal.

I didn't have the ability to stop what I was doing, so I got some of those pressure bandages. Not too tight, just enough to keep the muscles warm. Made a huge difference to the amount of pain I was in, and the recovery in general.

I'd say run unless it's hurting too much. :) You have to learn how to gauge pain. If it still hurts when you warm up after a few minutes running, ask yourself if the pain is sharp, or just a bit annoying. If you think it's causing damage, stop. If you don't - continue.

You may be getting no responses because nobody can tell you what to do. :) Just use your common sense and you will be fine.

    Damn, it's annoying, isn't it?
It really depends what and where the injury is...... I had inflamed tendons in my knee last year and the physio showed me how to strap it up and told me I could keep running. Earlier this year I injured my hip flexors and had to stop running for 2 weeks, the gradually ease back into it.
I can only suggest that you see a professional to get advice about your particular injuries - there is no "one size fits all" answer here. If you can't do that, exercising in water is often a safe way to get going again - but no guarantees, I'm not your physio!
