Any writers out there?

Writing is a big pastime of mine, so much so that I'm publishing my debut novel in the summer.

Was just wondering if anyone else here liked to write? if so what genre, form etc? :)

That's wonderful! What is your genre? How long have you been writing?

I want to write, so badly. But I can't for the life of me figure out what I want to write.
Some day, it will come out of the blue and smack me in the face. Until then, I will continue my string of blogs with only three posts before I lose interest and move on.
  • Thanks! I'm currently writing a WW2 Historical Romance (you can find more out about it here: www.facebook.com/WildflowersNovel)

You'll find what you like to write at some point, trick is just to start then the more you write the more you develop your craft :)

    *sheepishly raises hand*

I am considering a second attempt at Script Frenzy (http://scriptfrenzy.org/) next month following my 3rd annual failed attempt to complete National Novel Writing Month (http://nanowrimo.org/) - made it to 19,000 words this past year which means my output has roughly doubled each year!
  • A fellow NaNoWriMo-er!! I managed to complete mine this year and am now editing, editing and more editing!!

Script frenzy sounds interesting, I took a class in university but have forgotten most of it :(

I'm a writer. It's my career and my hobby. I write all kinds for a living, and I'm just in the latter stages of preparing my first children's book for publication towards the end of this year.

Good for you! Very impressive. WhenI am at a place where I can access Facebook I'll check it out. Damn IT nazis here.

I keep picking topics that are very personal to me and then something changes in my life and I can't finish them, lol.

They have templates on the Script Frenzy site for different types of scripts. I dunno, I don't want to know too much about what a script should be, I just wanna pound away at the keyboard as usual and see what I end up with.

that sounds exciting! how do you make it your living? would love to know more about your children's book, are you publishing traditionally or indie?

That actually made me laugh a little as my book is about nazi's :P

it's a good feeling when you wanna pound the keyboard, better than the days when it feels like pulling teeth!

I do all kinds of writing for other people. Have a wide range of clients in all kinds of industries, and just do whatever writing they need doing. As for my children's book, I'm publishing indie. Just preparing the final layout and the images - have a great illustrator who's making this very affordable as I'm going to be giving sales profits to charity once it's published. The trade-off for the cheap illustrations is a long wait, but I can manage!

I wrote two novellas, and have a lot of unfinished novellas. But I don't really write novellas anymore (well ok I am doing one right now). (siiighs). I mostly write poetry nowadays. Haiku, clerihew, narrative, speculative... i'm willing to try any. Also a song now and then doesn't hurt. :) Hello MFP writers.
