Sesami Tahini?? I really want to make my own hummus and have been up and down every isle including our organic isles and nothing. HELP!!

  • Hi. I'm not sure where you live - but we have a lot of Turkish, Cypriot and Greek shops around my part of London and they all stock tahini. Do you have one anywhere near you? Sorry if this doesn't help and good luck finding it! Alison x

    You can make it yourself, it is basically ground up sesame seeds.

    I presume you want it for making hummus? I just add the sesame seeds directly to the chick peas before I blend it all up.

    I get mine at my local Meijer, in the ethinc foods aisle. You should be able to find it at any larger grocery store.

    I found some in Publix, by the Kosher foods :huh:

    and they had a bag of sesame seeds at the health food store.

    Thanks for the suggestion, it never occured to me to add them to the chick peas. DUH:ohwell:

    I was all over the ethnic and health food isles today and nothing, We do have one larger grocery store I can check still. If you just through the sesame seeds in how much do you put in?
