Hi everyone..

I am looking to get a pedomiter (spelling?) . to help track walking steps and calories burned. Do any of you use one? Which one do you like? What one do you not like? What do you suggest?

Also, do any of you know how many steps you take in a mile? I've looked up a few websites, but they are all different. Not even close to the same answer. Just wondering if any of you might know the answer to this.

Thanks so much

I have one I got at WalMart quite awhile ago. I don't use it much since I got my HRM. The amount of steps in a mile depend on your stride. When I had the initial set up of my pedometer I had to walk a certain length and count my steps and input that. They are fairly accurate on steps and mileage but not really for calories burned, an HRM is better for that. Hope that helps.

I use the Omron. This one:
    http://www.amazon.com/Omron-HJ-105-Pedometer-Calorie-Counter/dp/B00006WNPY/ref=sr_1_5?ie=UTF8&s=sporting-goods&qid=1241997773&sr=1-5

I like it because you can adjust it for your "wiggle" (some pedometers count way more steps than you take). I've used this particular brand for 5 years.

    It's about 2000 - 2200 steps to a mile.
