BMI Calculator Wrong??

I used the BMI calculator from MFP and it tells me my estimated BMR is: 2,260 calories/day. Now when I do the calculations on my own with the same formula it tells me 3,300 calories/day.
My question is why such a difference? And what should it be?
I am 42, 6'3, and 281 lbs

BMI is a number between 0 and 100. Do you mean BMR?
Your BMR, using the Mifflin equation, is 2260.
The 3300 you have, does that include an activity multiplier? 2260 x 1.5 = 3385.0 -
Yes sorry I ment BMR and yes, I forgot I included the exercise.
Thank you for the help.
So basically as long as I keep eating 1800-2000 calories a day I should be dropping fast?0 -
My understanding is that it is not good to eat below your BMR (in your case, 2260) because that is what it takes for your body to function if you were in a coma doing absolutely nothing.
You can find out the calorie amounts you should be eating at this website: http://www.fat2fitradio.com/tools/bmr/0 -
I did the website and there is no way I can eat 3000+ calories a day.0
