Reasons Why I Don't Want To Tell You About My Diet
This is to the general public, whether we are friends, family, or acquaintances.
Please add your reasons!
Reason 1: Every time you see me, I don't want to hear "How's the diet going?"
Sometimes, it will be going great. The pounds will seem to just melt off! Then others, it will be going not-so-great. I will be depressed that I'm not losing weight, or I will be craving certain foods I can't eat, or possibly I gained weight. I'd rather just not talk about it unless I bring it up. Or that you are giving me a compliment on my weight-loss. That's pretty much ok.
Reason 2: You are thin/average, I am not.
This makes me highly uncomfortable to talk about my eating/exercise habits because you do not understand the struggle that it is to actually BE fat.
**Side Note: Having a "food-baby" after eating a lot of food, as thin/average people like to call it, does NOT mean you are fat.
Reason 3: I will feel like I am dieting for you instead of me.
I don't want this to turn into me losing weight so you will get off my back. Tried that once, and gained the weight right back shortly after.
Reason 4: You may try to tell me what I can and can't eat.
This is a BIG reason for me to keep my diet on a need-to-know basis. My personal weight-loss regime is all about calories and portion control. If I want a piece of chocolate pie, I will have a piece of chocolate pie. That just means more exercise, vegetables, and no snacking for the rest of the day. **I** am the one in control of my diet, not you. Telling me I can't have that food makes me want it all the more. So instead of this helping me, it destroys me. And makes me really angry at you. So, keep that in mind next time you tell someone "You don't need that chocolate pie".
Reason 5: It's none of your business.
That one pretty much speaks for itself.
(I'm pretty sure I will add more reasons later on. Feel free to copy and paste in your own blog, with proper author citation .)
