Hi, I'm new to this site, looking to lose nearly 30lb. How quickly do you think I can do that, with a low-calorie diet and exercise? I'm really determined to get in shape, but would be great to have support to keep me motivated. Thanks!

Welcome to MFP! For me, the first two weeks I lost about 7 lbs, and then I slowed to about 1.25lbs per week which is fine with me. Since I started this in earnest, I have lost 18lbs (in almost 4 months.) But everybody is different so..
Just remember not to go under 1200 cals per day since you will only go into starvation mode and not lose fat. Drink your water. And be honest with yourself and keep a really good count of cals consumed. I also keep a count on fat, protein, carbs, fiber, and sodium.
If you stick to it you will lose the weight! My goal was also 30 lbs and I am down to my last 7!!
Also, there are some great tips and advice on these forums so be sure to check them out...0 -
Apparently the recomended weight loss is 1 pound per week. So that is what i have been trying to aim for. Wishing you well on your weight loss journey:flowerforyou:
