Under my daily calorie intake

So this whole changing my lifestyle is new to me... so please bare with me. I try to move/exercise whenever I have the chance. I have been blessed to have a gym at my work so on my breaks and when I have time on my lunch I work out. I also work out after work for about 60 mins. I have a total of 1200 calorie goal but when I move/workout during the day I get the added benefit of adding more to my daily caloric goal. Now, the question is.. is it bad if I am usually under? I am listing everything that I eat during the day but I can't seem to reach it & I can't reach my daily caloric goal because I am FULL ( a word I thought I would never use LOL). Should I work out less and so I make sure to reach my 1200 goal a day or is it okay to be under? I don't starve myself... I eat when I'm hungry.

HELP PLEASE!

  • Some people eat their exercise calories back, and some dont. It just depends on the person! I don't ever meet my calorie goal! My dr gave me a 1500/day goal, and I haven't made it that high yet. I talked to her yesterday about it, I told her that I was having a hard time eating enough calories, without going over my 75 carbs. She told me that for now, that I should just watch my carbs, until I get closer to my goal weight... THEN pump up my calories. It's a learning process, and thats why we are all here!!

I quite easily stay around 1200 calories Mon-Fri and don't eat my exercise calories back (I usually burn 200-500). But, I also Spike on the weekends to keep my metabolism humming (and keep myself happy). If I've stayed close to goal all week I'll allow myself 2000 cals on Saturday (if not I'll stick to 1500 which is my bmr) and on Sunday I always do a full spike day of 3000 (twice my bmr). This allows me not to have to eat those exercise calories but if I was hungry on a given day I definitely would.

If you are doing 1200 a day for 7 days a week you really should be eating at least some back. Good luck!
