I'm 18, female, 5ft exactly and 7st6lbs/ 104lbs. My mum thinks I;m underweight, but I'm not even sure what my ideal weight is! So I guess I'm asking if you think I'm underweight, and if you know what my ideal weight should be.

I have a fairly muscualr build, if that makes a difference...

Well, experts say that a healthy range for your BMI is between 18.5-25, I believe. You come in at just over 20.

    Do you feel underweight?

Edit: Oops, misread your height. You're in the range.

Technically you're in a healthy range for your height. Underweight category starts at below 18.5 (bmi) and according to the BMI calculator, you're at about 20.

If you're a muscular/athletic build though, you would look thinner. Best to ask your doctor how they feel about your general health. There is no way any random person on the internet can give you more accurate info than your general practitioner.

Edit: I should note, I'm a similar height, weight and build and feel fine. My doctor agrees.

Yes, according to std BMI calculations, you are on the lower end of healthy (20 to 21)

Use this calculator for more details:

So probably you do look significanyly thinner than regular people, which are by norm these days overweight.
