So its my sisters wedding in 2 weeks, I'm bridesmaid, I just got my dress altered, it was a size 12 but had to be taken in at the sides. I went from a size 18 to a 10 (Irish sizes). Is it wrong that I feel so excited about the wedding so that people can see the new ME!!!! HEHE:blushing:

Nope! Not wrong at all. Keep in mind that it is the newlyweds day but that does not mean you will not be noticed. Show off all that hard work!!0

Ohh god yeah I know its their day, its my baby sister and I love her dearly. Its just so so long since I got all dolled up and actually felt good about myself. It'll be nice to get my hair, nails, tan and make up all done and dress up prity. Can't wait x0 -
Not IMHO. I'd be excited too. In fact, I have golf buddies I purposely didn't say anything about weight loss to and I don't see all winter. Just to see their reaction in a couple months.0

Lol!
Nope - sounds perfectly normal to me!
Congratulations on the weight loss... You deserve a touch of the limelight and I'm sure your sister won't mind too much - she's probably brimming with pride!0 -
No there is nothing wrong with that. I know how you feel to a certain degree of that. My brother-in-law and sister-in-law (she is his fiancee but they have been together so long we call her the unofficial sister-in-law) will be getting married in June. And I am the same way about my weight loss, only I am not a bridesmaid. Excited to be all dolled up and on my husband's (who is a groomesman) arm at the wedding in a cocktail dress that will make me look like a million bucks. Not trying to upstage the bride, but for all of our family pictures, holiday pics, etc. I have been in with the whole in-law side of the family, I have always been the heavy one and this time, I have lost more I think in inches than the bride has and her bridesmaids are not exactly small. So after that long rant, I think it is ok to feel good about yourself in this and be vain.0

That's awesome! I'm sure you'll look and feel great!
I have a sister I haven't seen for about 7 months (she's away at university), and she's coming home at the end of June. I'm excited to see if she'll notice the changes I've made. I didn't have a lot to lose, and I may even have been lighter than I am currently the last time I saw her, but hopefully she'll notice something lol. If not, my step dad works in Russia and he just left here. He'll be gone for about six-eight weeks and he's seen me lots so he SHOULD notice.
I remind myself of those two things when I don't feel like working out, or when I feel like eating a whole apple pie haha.0 -
I was in a similar situation. My daughter was getting married 2 years ago. She chose not to have any bridesmaids, just me. When I was measured for a dress, they pretty much forced me to get a large size - an 18, even though I asked for 2 sizes smaller since I knew I would be losing weight. When the dress came in, I tried it on (40 lbs lighter) and it literally just fell off me on to the floor. Luckily, when they do alterations, they only charge for taking the dress in, not now much they take it in. It felt great! The wedding pics will be around a long time, and you'll look wonderful in them.0

You should be excited about your weightloss and your sisters wedding, and vice versa (I hate my sister). but don't take the thunder from her (did I mention I hate my sister).0

Nope!!!
Although for my bff's b-day party (this coming Saturday) I had bought me a short black all sequence dress which was going to literally outshine her.. But I wanted all to see my success damnit. I ended up taking it back because it was too short and am glad because she's now going in all black sequence.0
