30 Day Shred - Weights question

I was wondering what weights other people are using when doing Jillian Michaels 30 day shred.

I am currently using 1.5kg. I'm not very strong and have never lifted weight much before this, but I keep reading about how 'lifting heavy' is the best way to tone your arms.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

    Lifting heavy is a great way to accomplish all-over body "tone", but the 30 DS is not about lifting heavy. It's about lifting light for many reps. When people talk about lifting heavy, they are talking about strength training with heavy weights and exercises like deadlifts, squats, overhead presses, etc. These exercises are usually done with with a barbell for 6-8 reps. In 30DS, you use light weights and do a lot of reps.

    30DS is a circuit training program with strength exercises included, but it is not strength training.

    I use 1.5 kg for 30DS too, they can be a little heavy at times so you will be fine with those! If they feel too heavy though put them down, don't injure yourself! :-) I have to put them down occasionally and just carry on without/until next exercise.
