Weight choice question... Advice PLEASE!!

I started doing 30DS Monday with 5 lb weights. I couldn't quite manage the full range on a few of the moves, but I figured it would work itself out and I'd get stronger, but this morning I woke up and couldn't extend my arms past 90 degrees and every time I tried my arms and shoulders cramped up.
My question is should I push through with the 5 pounders, or drop down to 3 pound hand weights? I am all for pushing myself, but I tend to push myself right into injuries.
Thanks in advance for your help! =D

Maybe I'm a sissy but I did day 1 with 1lb weights, day 2 and 3 with 3lb weights and continued with 5lb weights starting on day 4. Eventually I added 8lb weights to some of the exercises. If you are that sore and think you might injure yourself, try the 3s and work your way up. By the way, I started level 3 today and have great results so far. Maybe they would have been better had I used heavier weight, but I don't think it's worth the risk of injury. Good luck with your shred.0

I don't think you're a sissy... I think I'm an idiot LOL I'll go back down to the 3s and work back up from there. Thank you for your advice! =D0

If you've got lighter weights, use them! I started 30DS with 5lb weights too, and had the same problem with sore muscles - the sorest I've ever been in my life! I went out and bought 3's and 2's that day. And then took three days off from working out because I hurt so bad!
You will get stronger quickly - I find that I'm stronger on some moves than others, so you might keep more than one set of weights handy during the workout and use whichever ones you can handle for each move.0 -
I'm doing it with 5lb weights. On day 15. You will get stronger and used to it as you go. I like the feeling of the weight because I really feel like I'm getting an upper body workout.0

Definitely use 3lb weights to start. I started with 5lbs and couldn't finish most of the sets, which was discouraging. I bought a pair of 3lbs, and managed to work my way back up to my 5lbs by the end!0
