How to Start

I am hoping that there are some runners out there who can give me some advice. I started being aware of what I eat a little over a month ago, at the same time I started walking three times a week. The food part is coming together and I am walking at a good pace for 50 minutes. I am thinking that I should move up my walking to include some jogging - I have never been a runner and would say that I hate to run. But, after reading so many posts where people love it - I think I am ready to try. My concern is, how to I start to add it without getting discouraged and wanting to just quit all of it? I have taken the step to get new shoes from our running store, but didn't ask any advice, just shared that I was new to running. (I currently walk outside and try to just use the treadmill as a last resort.
Thank you in advance for any help you can offer!
