So, a friend and I are going to spin class tonight at our local gym for the first time. I normally lift weights every other day at the gym and today is the day I would normally do it. Just wondering, if I should lift weights before or after my spin class......or dont lift at all? What are your thoughts? Has anyone taken a spin class before....can someone please tell me what pain I will be looking forward to afterwards? Haha!! Can't wait to hear!!
Happy Counting!

Wee! I did my first spin class last May after I got a stress fracture in my foot, and I can tell you that it is a lot of fun. You're only competing against yourself, but you've got the music pumping and the instructor motivating you and everyone is working hard around you... amazing. I think that strength training is always better before a cardio workout, because if you do cardio and then try to use those muscles in short bursts of speed you a)have less energy in those muscles because you've depleted your stores and b) may put yourself at risk of injury.
As for pain... it depends on your fitness level! I did it and was fine, but I am a cross-trainer anyway and had just finished training for a triathlon. Make sure you get help from someone on how to adjust your seat, handlebars, etc. I'm sure you had a great time! I'm sorry I did not see this sooner.0
