a "happy" eater?

My first post!

Anyway, I have discovered I'm a happy eater! So I guess this is good and bad? Anytime I'm depressed or upset over something, my appetite disappears and, if it's for a long enough time (i.e. break up), I lose weight. Since I've met my husband two years ago (it's been a very happy two years!) I've gained about 25-30 lbs since. Does anyone else have this problem?

I've just started on MFP with a few friends from work a few weeks ago, and have lost about 3 lbs so far, but it seems depression has been my motivation in the past. Kind of a "I can't control my life, so I'll control my food" defense mechanism maybe? Now I'm trying to be happy *and* control my food, and it's proving difficult!
