Full Length Mirror

So I think I need to get a full length mirror. I realized the other night as I was trying to find something to wear to a job interview that I don't have a full length mirror....anywhere. I avoid them like the plague! When I do look in the mirror I pretty much only look at my face. I've realized that my lack of motivation may be fueled by the fact that I never have to look at myself. I never let anyone take pictures of me unless my kids are blocking the fat parts lol. I'm going out to buy a full length mirror tonight and putting it in a high traffic area where I'll have to look at myself every day several times. (maybe on the fridge!!! hahahahahahahaha)

LOL I think getting a full-length mirror is likely a good idea. It will help you track your progress, and you should be looking at it and focussing on the good bits! See the progress that you've made, admire the shape of your nose or ankle or whatever. We've got to love ourselves! (That being said, I still see flaws in myself, of course, but I try to always remind myself of my progress as well.)
I've spent a lot of time staring at the mirror in the course of this journey (that sounds so narcissistic, lol), and I like myself a lot better than I used to. (And I think it's both about feeling that I look better physically and embracing my body and how it's supported me throughout the years and is continuing to do so now, changing for the good this time. They feed one another in a healthy cycle if you let them.)
Best of luck. ^_^0 -
I say get a full length mirror with a decently thick frame on it and paint positive, self-affirming words all around the entire frame to remind yourself how beautiful you are and of all the things you like about yourself every time you look in the mirror0

The only mirror in our house used to be in the bathroom! I've since brought some 'long, skinny' mirrors and placed in hallway etc to 'create the illusion of space' - but you also walk past the beggars several times daily!
My mum's old house had huge mirrors everywhere! It was a very good source of motivation....!0 -
I would die without mine. Im not good at matching clothes in general so it helps me at least see what I look like in the am haha0

I think a full length mirror is a valuable tool in our journey, I like that image better all the time0

I bought those Crayola Window-Writer markers recently, but they're good for any kind of glass - mirrors included. I decided to try and find some inspiring quotes or things to write on them so that I read them first, then look past them to look at myself. I think it's a good idea for all of us to remember some positive things before we look in mirrors... mirrors are sort of considered the enemy because they get us in that self-hating mood. But maybe we can make them our friends?0

Thanks for your support ladies...I'm buying one tomorrow when I have a chance to get to the store I've had it ....and MFP isn't enough motivation unfortunately... I need a serious attitude adjustment before I'm going to get anywhere with this weight loss thing0
