So I am wondering what percent of carbs, fats and proteins are best? I have read anywhere from 35-50% carbs and am confused!

From a weight loss perspective it makes very little difference whether your calories come protein, carbs or fat as long you stay at or below your daily caloric limit.
In terms of optimal ratios it depends on your goals. Generally speaking fats should not be more than 30% of your calories, 40 to 60% from carbs (preferably complex carbs) and 10 to 20% from protein. An endurance athlete would probably lean towards a more carb heavy diet whereas a body builder would eat fewer carbs and more protein.0 -
