Under Calorie Goal?

This doesn't happen often, but sometimes when work is busy I forget to eat throughout the day and then have a lot of calories left to consume at the end of the day. This happened today and I just finished dinner and have 200 calories left to meet my goal for the day. I also burned a lot of calories at the gym after work. I am totally full (had steamed veggies, fish, and brown rice for dinner and unsweetened applesauce for dessert), so I am hesitant to eat just to eat. I mean... that's what led me such an unhealthy weight in the first place.

Like I said, this doesn't happen very often and I'm usually great about spacing out my food throughout the day. Does anyone else ever have this problem and if so, do you eat til you meet your goal or stop when you're actually full? Unless I stay up really late I don't think I can handle more.

Originally i was going to say 'its okay if youre a little under every now and then..... But then i checked your diary for today..... You don't have 200 left for the day, you have 1000 b/c of your exercise. Yes you probably should eat something. Preferably w/o making yourself feel stuffed (I.e. if its not a problem for you to stay up a little later so you can eat something, do it.). You could also try eating some of those extra calories tomorrow, meaning you would go OVER your usual net goal as a 'zig-zag' strategy. I only looked at today - do you routinely burn that much at the gym and not eat back any of it at all?

No, today was definitely out of the ordinary. I was in beast mode at the gym and burned a lot more than I normally do. I usually burn about 400-500 calories each day for exercise and then consume between 1300-1600 calories a day. I think I will be up a bit late tonight, so I'll snack on some nuts and fruit later and then plan to eat a bit extra for tomorrow.

I looked up person in the database, it's just over her calorie allotment.
