Three is a lonely number, isn't it?

Yeah, for last day of teaching! I'm sure my yoga teacher is just as excited - she teaches at UT. It's been a really hard semester for her (though no strike or anything). She's been sick quite a bit and was sick again yesterday. She might have a harder time than me at this workshop this weekend.:noway:

Yesterday - three errands on the bike and yoga. Heat wasn't that bad.

I have one month left before my free Dexa scan expires. Not a lot of time to lose weight:tongue: Remember the days of a pound a week? Never had them myself (consistently), but that is so fast - a pound a week. Ok, no more unfairs. So, I haven't lost weight in a year - haven't gained it either - and I haven't counted calories for 7 months (though I did gain some and then lose it). Maybe I'll lose some more.

In honor of Niccole:

Positive thoughts Boogaloo!

Mary

A little rant here. I just read an article on yahoo about weight and body image - and it implied what I've seen so many have implied: if you eat right and exercise, you will lose weight. I don't think so. You will only lose weight if you haven't been eating right or exercising. Though I know that most people need to move more and eat more plants, the reason it makes me so mad is it makes me feel like I'm not doing something right - like I'm neglecting something that will make the unwanted pounds go away.
    Ok, rant over.

Body fat measurement tool. It's a low grade X-ray. It's just as, if not more, accurate than the water tank - and no getting wet  Usually, only available at universities.

I'm there with you. I just can't seem to budge the last amount of weight/fat I'd like to lose. The whole "it's just math" line of thinking makes me want to slap someone. Because, it is math, but it's also genetics, and hormones and body type and stress levels and a million other things. I think some of us are genetically made to hang on to it, and some to lose it more easily. I know that I'm healthy (well, mostly anyway) now, but I'm still not as small/firm as I'd like. . .If you've only been sitting on the sofa and eating cheesy poofs, than yes if you start exercising you can "walk away the pounds" or "lose two dress sizes in two weeks" or whatever the headline is on the latest issue of shape/fitness/women's health. But, if you're healthy and already eating well. . .then your body is really likely to maintain its preferred status quo. It bothers me that I might be thought of as "someone who could stand to lose a few" by these weird standards. . .Whoo. . . .rant over.

Anyway, today I hope to find my positive attitude (I've been missing it for a few days) in the Bikram studio. I've officially decided that Mother's Day depresses me. . .it's a big validation day for the choices I didn't make. (not that I have anything against Mothers at all, mind you. . .)

    misplaced my mojo boogaloo.

    Take care.:flowerforyou:

    Howdy!
I'm still around...and getting rounder by the day! I am not stepping on the scale when I get home!
Sorry I wasn't able to check in. No time. Having a good time. Beat my brothers at monopoly twice! I got a walk in the first day we were here and that was it. My sister's bed is killing my back. We are leaving for Houston today, probably after lunch. We will be there until at least Thursday morning. I am going to try to take advantage of the hotel gym, but that's only if Steve will watch Alex. Still struggling with depression from not having any energy. I have a doctor's appointment on June 10th to get all checked out. I honestly hope there's something wrong to explain my miscarriages and my fatigue, and that it is fixable of course.
I saw Mary post "in honor of Niccole". What happened? Where'd she go? I'll try to find the post to catch up.
I need to go pack up now. I hope you all are well, and I will try to catch up with you soon!

    Miss y'all!

She hasn't checked in for some time. She got me started on this forum though. She always signed off "Positive Thoughts". I was just thinking about her.

    We're in Houston.
So far I am not too impressed but I didn't expect to be. The hotel is kind of in the 'hood or near it so I am not too comfortable with walking very far. There is a gym. I brought a couple of taebo dvd's so I could also work out in the room. The pool is "out of service" for the next few days since the pump is broken. Alex has been talking about swimming since I told him he was going to get to go. :grumble: So I guess we will fill up the tub and let him play in there. We are going to try to go to the beach at some point so hopefully that will make up for it.
The cool thing is that the hotel is literally across the street from a smaller airport, so we get to watch the planes take off. I thought it might be noisy but it's not.
Anyway, that's what's going on here. I may avoid the boards tomorrow since I am missing the BL tonight and I don't want to hear who won.
CP I hope your trip is going okay and you can get the sleep routine worked out!
    Night night!
