or do men seem to find this weight loss thign far easier than women?!?! I have to examples to back up my theory 1) the before and after shots of men on here are amzing but they tend to be over a shorter period of time than the amzing before and after pics of women and 2) my other half and I both decided to start losing weight I kick started on 01st Jan this year and thus far have dropped from around 15st (210lbs) to bobbing just above or just below 14st (196); he however didn't start until 01st March and has dropped from 18st 12lbs (264 lbs) to 17st 11lbs (249 lbs)!
We eat the same things other than the obvious fact that he eats more than me, being heavier and taller. And if anything I do a lot more exercise than him! He does a 30 min walk mon-fri and maybe another few hours on a sunday while fishing. I do an hour of aerobics on a tue, 3 hour gym session on a sunday, walking 5k, upping this to jogging at the moment, every day that I can so atleast 5 out of 7!
Don't get me wrong I am chuffed with my weight loss and super proud of him for losing it all but how the hell is he doign it so quickly?!!

well my husband can eat all the goodies that I have to NOT eat, he does have a physical job , but so do I. He has only ever been about 5kg over weight and loses quickly,
Me I on the other hand I have to be so careful what I eat and drink. I gain weight easily, and work hard to lose it.
I do know Genetics has part to play too though, You will find that if you look at most people the body shape and weight issues or non issues seem to run in family;s, so if your a polar bear you have to work hard at it where as a humming bird has it easy peasy, ( Dr Hendrik V Rensberg, book , A Medical Guide to weight loss, polar bears and Humming birds)

it's just biology! men have more testosterone (and that's a GOOD thing!) and the potential for more muscle growth and a higher percentage of lean muscle to body weight. They also tend to be heavier than women and have bigger heavier bones. so if they weigh more to start with, they use more calories just walking around every day. when they start eating right, their biology gives them a boost that women don't get. and it's totally not fair, but that's just the way it is! my own DH has to eat all the time and large quantities of food just to keep from losing weight! :grumble: Our counter is stacked with cannisters of M&M's and other candies, but they are not for me, just for him!0

No !!
Currently in the world, people eat an incredible amount of carbohydrates.
WOMEN suffer from this bad thing, EVEN MORE than MEN do. That is the only difference.
I suggest the book "Life without Bread" by Dr Lutz. It explains all of this in great detail.
I hope it helps
It's worth noting that statistically, in most countries there are just as many "obese" men as women -- BUT regarding the (very few!) people who are "not obese" (ie, who look like models) ... there are usually MORE women than men statistically. On the face of it, that would suggest it's actually easier for women than men to have "model figures." (The difference is probably just due to the fact that very few men care that much about "looking like a model" but a relatively larger number of females do.)0 -

I only eat one bit of bread a day .... It gives me major indigestion so I try and avoid it if I can but it does seem to be the easiest thing for brekkie when you have two children I usually follow anything carb based with a rennie!0
