This will sound crazy, but try upping your calories.

The less you have to lose, the less you should restrict your calories. In my opinion, 1200 is extreme for just about everybody. Your body wants to live, so the less you feed it, the better it gets at storing that energy. In fact, most current research says the least you should eat is your body weight times ten, and a lot of research says that you should then add ten percent of that number to it. (example: body weight of 135x10+135=1485 for a minimum amount of calories) Then, you should eat at least some of your exercise calories. Or try upping by 100 calories until you start to lose again.

I base this on personal experience. When I started recording my calories here, I had plateaued, even though I thought I was doing "everything right". Turns out I wasn't eating enough.

  • 1200 is probably too little. I lose more weight eating 1400. Obviously everyone is different, but if you're exercising that much you're going to need more calories!

Like the others said it sounds like you need to eat more, believe it or not you have to eat to loose weight, especially if you have chosen the even greater option of adding exercise to your life.

When you started you should have entered info to get a base calorie amount, if you exercise you have earned additional calories and from what I can see from the topic I posted yesterday, everyone that is losing weight seem to be eatting their daily alloted and all or most of the earned calories, so even if your base is only 1200 you probably have a couple hundred more to eat everyday with exercise!

We really need stickies. Ashley, I don't blame you (or anyone for that matter), for not seeing the posts (a search bar would also come in handy I guess), but I see this post about 2 or 3 of these a month, almost the exact same issue from our newer Pals. :explode: and we always give the same answer. It's a good question, we just keep seeing it and it gets a little frustrating after a while.

If you don't mind me asking, what amount of calories does the site say you are suppose to eat?
Also, if you had to classify, how would you classify your body type?
Here is what I think based on what I can see right now.

Since you are only looking to loose 22 lbs. I will make the assumption that you are already in pretty decent shape, if that is the case, weight loss will be slower, that is actually a good thing. If you are close to where you should be and massive weight loss takes place (say more then 10 lbs a month for someone like you), then something drastic is happening with your body. Drastic body changes aren't usually a good sign unless you are morbidly obese, you are really looking for slow and steady, that way your body can maintain the new weight and health level.

Of course, I could be totally wrong, I am not a nutritionist or a dietician so take it for what it's worth, but I have been doing this for a while now, and my wife is a trainer and certifying for nutrition and she bounces most of her stuff off me, so I would imagine I am better informed then average.
Don't get discouraged, 2 weeks isn't a big enough sample to know whether your plan is working or not. You need probably 2 months to really see if it is working for you.
