Plateau Problem

I was introduced to MyfitnessPal by a colleague at work, sometime around the beginning of February. Never a fan of calorie counting, I was just nerd enough to really like the iPhone ease of use. At 247 pounds, I started in.

I've been uber-impressed with this app, really quite amazing results. And I play the little mental game I'm sure most users do, variations on "If I do this cardio workout, that means I can have a little more at lunch". Consequently, I'm walking 3 miles every morning before work, and have started getting in another 1.5 mile during work (around the building).

All this effort (and the endorphins that get released :) have managed to actually reduce my appetite, which is great. And I've lost 15-17 pounds, which is also great. My graph has been steadily moving down (I didn't even know I was supposed to log daily weight for the first week or so, but my daily weigh-in was always showing a steady loss).

Problem is, for the last week or so, I seem to have leveled out. When I hit 230, MFP asked if I wanted tor recalculate, based on my new weight, which I did. But I seem to be fluctuating between 230-232 for the last week or so, even though I'm staying on target for intake.

Slightly discouraging, although, to be honest, my initial rate of weight loss seemed to me to be unsustainable. I'm just hoping the downtrend kicks in again soon. I feel better, yes, but a main goal is for there to be less of me. :). Still, it's a great app/system. I am definitely touting it to friends and family.

stay the course! you've done great so far, and a week of no loss is not going to make or break you. focus on inches lost, how your clothes fit, and how you feel. the numbers on the scale are a tool - not your results. best of luck to you!

ps~ a week is hardly a plateau, by the way. try not losing any weight for about six months - that's a plateau bummer for sure! :flowerforyou:
