Pandora has a great section of stations catered to fitness. Just browse under Genres and select Workout. There's tons of choices under there, from 80s Cardio to Yoga to Rap Strength Training.

My favorites are the Pop Fitness and Pop and Hip Hop Power Workout. I find they have a lot of songs with some great uptempo beats that keep me moving and give me a good rhythm.

If you love hip-hop, I would try:

Focused (fest Kid Cudi) by Wale (Seriously good motivating song!)
Lay it on me (feat Big Sean) by Kelly Rowand
Make me proud (feat Nicki Minaj) by Drake
    Y.U. Mad by BirdMan
    Girls like you by Miguel
    Countdown by Beyonce
    Headlines by Drake
    Take Care by Drake
Make it hot by Wiz Khalifa
Break my bank by New Boyz
    Titanium by David Guetta
Girls fall like dominos by Nicki Manaj
    Climax by Usher
    Alone Again by Akyssa Reid

I realize that those aren't all hip-hop but they are some of the tracks I listen to. Here are some British hip-hop songs if you want to have a go at them (although again, not ALL are hip-hop):

    Earthquake by Labrinth
    Midnight Run by Example
    No Regrets by Dappy
Danza Kuduro by Don Omar (not British but it played over here for LONG time on the radio)
    Heaven by Emeli Sande
    Levels by Avicii
Want you Back by Cher Lloyd
    Reaching out by Nero
Read all about it by Professor Green
    Pass Out by Tinie Tempah
Next to Me by Emeli Sande
    Domino by Jessie J
  • I am the same, I put pandora radio on my phone and have a station labeled "teach me how to dougie" and "rack city" you will get hip-hop and rap with those

    3 inches of Blood
    Lamb Of God
    Chimaira
    Slipknot
Anything off "The Blackening" by Machine Head
There a couple Distrubed and Korn songs
    Metallica
    Mnemic

Basically anything pretty heavy works well...

Hip hop. I have a problem, though, because sometimes I'd rather dance aka booty shake than work out (depending on what song is on) Ice Cube You Can Do It...that song turned into a cardio booty shake work out!
Totally know how that goes! :)
And there's so much good music! I love some Pitbull, Ciara, and Chris Brown. I like workin out to stuff that I'd normally dance to. So far, my favourite motivational/workout song is Heart of a Champion by Nelly. Amazing song. :)

LOL I will be snapping my fingers and dancing on the arc trainer. I don't care either LOL If I want a great workout most definitely Hip-hop...Kanye, Mary J. Blige, Beyonce, Jay-Z, OutKast, T.I., some Jeezy or more ole school hip-hop. I work out the best w/ KRUNK music...anything by Lil Jon.

I agree about Daft Punk. "Human" is one of the best songs for running. Ever. Hands down.

    BUMP!

Lately I've been listening to Inna but I've been wanting to find good Dubstep! :(
  • If you have a smartphone, you MUST download the Pandora application - you won't need to listen to anything else when you workout! They have awesome generic/preset "radio stations" + ones you can custom build too - my favorite generic one right now is the "Dance Cardio" station. Seriously gets me pumped at the gym!

I got tired of my downloaded music pretty fast, and it gets so expensive! So I've been using the slacker app on my phone, and it works great to keep things new and interesting...and free.

I need to try it out! Thanks!!

My FAVORITE song to rock out to on the elliptical is Flo Rider's Right Round. Not usually a song I listen to to enjoy music but it has the PERFECT beat for me when I want to throw myself into my workout and have the time pass quickly :)

Girltalk is my favorite for working out. I've been listening to those mash-ups for years while sweating it out on the elliptical.
Recently I've been listening to Orange Goblin, Marylin Manson and stuff like that b/c I needed to change it up.

I go to 8tracks.com and go to types of music and theres a category called 'workout'. There's tons of awesome work out mixes there and theyre by the type of music in them- rock, techno, hip hop, pop. anything really.

theres an app for it too. I think it was free.

For running I love to listen to either The Crystal Method (Community Service and Legions of Boom are particular faves) or the Beastie Boys (I'm old school like that, lol!)
Red Hot Chili Peppers are good too, and nothing will beat "Lose Yourself" by Eminem to motivate you in a hard run!
I'm Canadian, so The Tragically Hip (esp "Courage") and 54/40 are great if you're looking for a little less techno/hiphop and more rock with a good beat...

Just my suggestions - works for me!
