    Pros:

It's easy to wear--you get used to having it on.

It does a good job of tracking your "free living" activity, which is one big gray area in most people's plans. You don't have to worry about estimating your "daily activity level" or wondering if that 2 hours of yardwork today made up for the 8 hours you spent on the couch yesterday.

It can be very motivating--if you take the time to download data in the middle of the day, it can help keep you moving. Casual activity is a big component of weight loss and one that many people don't pay attention to.

    Cons:

It's not very good at tracking exercise calories, so you still have to figure than out.

The web site is OK, but not super user friendly.

The program is BIG (and I mean BIG, BIG, BIG) on selling you supplements. I didn't interact with the website all that much so I don't know how intrusive that is on an ongoing basis, but it made me feel kind of yucky about the whole business and being associated with the company.

From what a lot of people say, after a relatively short time, you see that your activity patterns follow some fairly regular patterns, so the numbers start to look the same after a while.

So, you make your own call as to whether the net value justifies the cost. There is value to the device IMO. And I think you get as much value from the BB as you would from spending that same of money on a couple of training sessions or visits with a dietitian. But I think its long-term value is limited, so you have to have the right level of expectations.

Same as above for the most part. I didn't have a problem with it tracking my exercise calories though.

You learn information from this that you can't get anywhere else. You learn how and where you body uses calories, what your general daily calorie expenditure is, how many calories you burn during house work, etc.

Like said above, after a while you know what to expect in the numbers. I wore mine for 3-6 months, then sold it. Save yourself a little money and find one on ebay or craigslist.

I have no issues with my BB not calculating my exercise burn properly and this is the very first time I have ever heard that.
I have heard a few people say that it doesn't calculate biking well since it is all leg work but in that case I've read you can wear the BB on your leg. Not sure if that makes it more accurate though.

I love my bodybugg. I have been wearing it for 21 weeks now.
I love that I can keep perfect track of my deficit. MFP is great but you never know exactly where you are. It's all guesstimates and exercise burns are really high on here for the most part.

The only con I can see is the food database isn't that great. I don't use it. I just use my BB for the burn and download it every night and sometimes during the day after I exercise. I have MFP set up for the calorie intake from the BB website though.
It takes the guess work out of it.

It's comfortable and I forget I'm even wearing it most of the time.
I also will say that the BB has great customer service. My medium band broke after 2 weeks and I called them and they sent me a new one right away and gave me 3 free months of online service for my trouble.

Yes, you will come to expect what you burn. But, I will say....if you have quite a bit of weight to lose it is totally worth it. I don't burn nearly what I used to burn when I was 30 pounds heavier. So I'm glad I kept wearing it or I'd be way off on my burns if I assumed I was still burning the same.

Overall, great investment for me. I feel like it makes me move more because I know it's "tracking" me. I have some lazy tendencies so anything that can get me moving more is a good thing.
