Which is best for losing weight?

I keep on seeing contradictory advice on weight loss. I am trying to lose weight and I joined a gym in January. My current exercise regime consists of Zumba once a week, body combat 3 times a week, abs crunch once a week and i try to walk about 2 hours every day.
However, I heard on the Biggest Loser (UK) that the best method for losing weight is running, and today I read that cardio and running doesnt help with weight loss, only resistance training will do that. Am I wasting my time doing high intensity cardio? Seriously though, body combat is a killer and I finish up dripping with sweat!
I have started doing Body Pump (but only because my friend loves it, I thought i would give it a go!) and aim to do it 4 times a week.
What is the best method for weight loss? I am currently also sticking to a 1200 - 1400 calorie diet and i have lost 8lbs in 8 weeks. Thanks

To answer your question: Cardio and strength both aid in weight loss. Here's the difference. Cardio burns a blast of calories as you workout, but ends shortly thereafter. Strength training will seemingly burn less calories DURING workout, but continues to burn after - and as muscle increases, so does the calories burned. The best method is to keep both going - cardio and strength. BUT... if I were to just choose one, it would be strength training 100% of the time Hope that helps!0

Both are good. Running is fine but not alone. The probelm with all and only cardio is that you will lose fat but you will also lose lean muscle. Self defeating. Doing strength training equally with cardio helps burn fat and maintain lean muscle mass.0
