HRM and boxing

I have a Polar FT4 with chest strap. I want to use my HRM while boxing but don't think it will work under my wraps and gloves. Anyone have any ideas of how to get around this? I definitely want to know what I'm burning, but I don't think putting it on, turning it on and then wrapping over it would be accurate. Ideas?

You could try and loop the watch on your waist band so you can still see the display and it should be close enough to read.

When I work out with my trainer, we do boxing stuff all the time. I just fasten the glove a little looser on the wrist that has the watch on. I haven't had a problem. I obviously can't see the face of the watch, but I've never had it lose connection or anything, so I don't really need to. I agree that maybe putting on your waist band or in your pocket or something could also work.

I had the same issue, so what I started doing was attaching the watch part to my bra strap. Of course, I wear tanks or cut off tshirts, so I just wrap it right around that and box away.

Just keep in mind that your HRM will overestimate calories burned during boxing. Upper body work inflated the HR response-HRM doesn't know the difference.
