New to running. Shoe suggestions?

I've always walked off and on, but recently am trying to start jogging too. I need some new shoes. I have extremely flat feet. Suggestions?

    I thought I was buying quality shoes, but had shin pain. Got fitted finally and no pain.

    Yes to a running store or a good fitting! I love shoes, owned pretty much everything out there and have never been truly comfortable. Made my first visit to a local shop last month and could not be happier. I have no pain and feel like I could go forever. The people were so nice, really polite and not pushy at all. I said I would take the shoes and was expecting to pay sticker price. The owner rang me up and took 20% off, said bring them back for any reason. They just secured a customer for sure.
