So this is the first time I've joined a website/group like this. I've tried to lose weight on my own before but without a lot of success. One of the hardest things I've found is to keep myself motivated so I'm really hoping this will help me stay on track. I've got a good 50-60 pounds to lose so I would love to connect with some people who are planning to be active on this site and work at getting healthy.

I am on here everyday tracking my exercise and food. I get on the forums and make some comments but read mainly. There are good posts, supportive post, informative ones, fun ones and of course the negative soap operaish ones. Don't let the negativity on here discourage you there are so many positive people and post on here. The more friends you have that can see what you are doing the more accountable you are or that is how I am. In the month I have been on here I have lost over 8 lbs and lost over 4 1/2 inches. I am very motivated to get comfortable in my body again. Feel free to add me if you feel like I can help you or be there to be supportive or motivate you.0

I was going to join WW the beginning of the year, but we can not afford another expense.. my friend suggested MFP and it has been the best thing i have ever done in the weight loss field. i have lost 30 lbs since my highest weight ever and i am the lowest I've been in 10 years.
please add me it you like..0 -
You will love all the support and info you get here. Ask questions and you will get some really good feedback. To start, I suggest you measure yourself and grab a tight pair of jeans. This will get you through the times when the scale stands still. It happens, but when it does, seeing those inches come off and those jeans fitting better, will be a blessing. Oh and take pictures, they really tell the whole story.0

I have my measuring tape all set out for tomorrow morning, same with my scale...which scares me a little because it's been a while since I set foot on one...but I can tell just by the way my jeans are fitting I need to make a change. The number on the scale is a nice encouragement but if my clothes start feeling comfy again I will be thrilled.
Thank you all for the encouragement about the site, I'm already feeling a lot more motivated than I've felt in a long time to get working on my weight. I've just started reading through the message boards and already I'm learning some useful tips! I'll watch out for the negative and soap opera posts for sure0
