So I have used organic flax seed in the past. It came in a bag from the grocery section of walmart, had a very short shelf life, and needed to be refrigerated. Recently I found organic milled flax seeds in the vitamin aisle at walmart. It comes in a plastic container with a red cap that has 2 openings. My questions are:

Can anyone recommend a brand that has PROVEN health benefits that exceed other brands?

Have any of you tried the spring valley brand I'm talking about. If so, do you find that it tastes like fish oil? (The first brand I tried tasted like wheat and nothing else...I am a bit put off by the fish oil taste of this new (to me) brand)

Is there any proven benefit by taking flax seeds milled instead of as a gel capsule? Which is better?

Thanks!!!

Just a cautionary note here......I bought organic flaxseed oil and had a severe allergic reaction to it......heart palpitations, racing pulse, extreme chest and pulmonary discomfort for about 12 hours. I was shocked by my reaction to it as I had never heard of any possible "side effects" to ingesting flaxseed oil. For the vast majority of people there will be no problem. Just be aware.
