So, I have seen posts after post after post about people being afraid to up calories because they have "been eating so few calories for so long that their metabolism is screwed".
Okay, I REALLY do understand this feeling.
I definitely had it.
ACTUALLY, most of my weight was lost because I was on a med. that made my appetite die and so I was way under 1000 calories a day for almost a year. I thought that if I ate a reasonable amount I would gain. And I know this is a common concern. A starvation mode concern thingy.

Anyways, I would just like to share that now I do eat a decent amount probably like 1500-1700 most days with a day or two over maint. to balance it out. I also eat back exercise calories. And guess what, I am still 115 pounds. No gain. Just maintain. Even a little leaner looking. And eating more has given me energy, made me happier, even improved my self image. So I encourage you to not worry.

Well, there you are. Haha. Thanks for reading.

Haha thank you for posting this! :D My diary was constantly 1200 calories or less and bleh, so messy, now trying to hit 1500cals a day and obviously I was concerned over an initial gain before losing again, but this makes me feel happier :D Can't wait till I get where you are ^-^

I've recently upped my calories to 2080ish because I needed a "break" (mentally) from the diet. I was afraid I'd gain weight because I'd been maintaining (while trying to lose!) on 1700 or so calories a day. Oddly enough, I actually lost a pound. I'm not sure it's real, and haven't logged it (and won't until it stays gone!), but my point is... I'm another that has steadily increased my calories over the last several months and I haven't gained.

Some might gain a little initially because of water weight... but that will go away. And you'll feel awesome on more food.

    So eat people :D
