I am curious if many people on here take Omega oils? I have this irrational fear of developing a blood clot and dying. I know, it's silly, but it's there. I eat quite a bit of fish but I tend to not eat nuts so much because once I start, it's hard to stop! My friend was advising I get a good Omega supplement. He said 3 and 9 are most important? Does it have to be a fish source or can it come from flax or ?

I use an Omega oil to cook with...
it has grapeseed, evoo and flaxseed oils
I also put flaxseed oil in my protein smoothie...
the protein powder can be hard for you body to digest...
and the flaxseed helps with that

Just the omega 3's and 6's are essential. Omega 9's are actually monounsaturated fat like oleic acid. Olive oil is basically oleic acid and you don't need to supp those, you'll get enough in the foods you eat and like I said their not essential anyway.

The omega 3's the body really needs are EPA and DHA which are not found in enough quantity or utilized by the body efficiently enough in plant sources, so yes, ocean based omega 3's is the better choice. If you eat fish a few times a week, your probably fine and don't need to supp any n:3's

That's dangerous. There's a reason why the best quality omega oils come encapsulated or refridgerated in dark containers. Heat, light and oxygen are to avoided at all cost when dealing with any omega oils, period.
