30DS Results: Paying back a debt

A little background here: I decided mid-January that my weight was creeping up to an uncomfortable level (yet again) so my husband and I made a decision to each lose 20 lbs before our 10 year anniversary in May. That would put me at my pre-pregnancy weight before my last baby and my lowest point in adulthood, though I still have more weight to lose after that goal. So I started eating a little smarter and smaller portions, but working out was a huge hit and miss for me. At the beginning of February, I pulled out my trusty 30DS dvd and did one workout. I had never done anything other than level 1 and began to wonder what kind of results I could get if I actually did it for 30 days consistently. I decided to do a google search for before and afters. I found the majority of links were for this site. After scrolling through them I was totally amazed and decided I wanted to have results like that too. Seriously, just 20 minutes a day?! I have 3 kids, 2 of whom are very little and home with me all day, so I needed something that could be done quickly. That same day, I downloaded the MFP app for my Kindle and so did my husband. I've been addicted to MFP ever since! I've learned so much just by consistently logging my food and I've been inspired daily by the amazing people on these message boards and what they've accomplished. So while I'd rather sit in my quiet lurking hole and be inspired by everyone else, I figure it's time I paid it back a little and show my results from the 30DS since it's all thanks to MFP posters that I even did it. :flowerforyou:

I was determined to do it every single day except Sundays or unless I was puking. I ended up catching a stupid cold for two weeks in the middle of it, but I PUSHED THROUGH! Even when I couldn't do a move, I modified it however I could because I figured something was better than nothing. I did each level for 10 days (except level 1 which I accidentally did for 11 days) as well as zumba or other cardio a couple times a week. I didn't eat all my exercise calories back until recently because I didn't know I was supposed to, but now I am.

Enough babbling. Here are my results:

Height: 5'4"
SW: 171.8 CW 162.8 NET: -9 lbs
Belly button: -1 in
Hips: -1 in
Thigh: -.75 in
Calf: -.25 in
Arms: -.25 in
Chest: -1.5 in

I'm just pleased I can actually see a difference in these pictures! I was afraid I wouldn't see anything since my measurements aren't Earth-shattering. I decided to do level 1 again this morning to see how much I've improved. HUGE DIFFERENCE in my abilities and endurance!

It was definitely a challenge doing this with 2 little ones around me, sometimes literally crawling all over me. My 10-month-old thinks that if Mom's down to do crunches, that's an open invitation for her to come cuddle on me. She does it EVERY TIME!!

That is awesome! You look great! You look to me like you've lost more inches than what your measurements indicate. Maybe it's because you're more toned.

Well done!! I can totally relate to the baby cuddles  my 9 month old is the same! I've started using her as a weight and crunching with her on my chest! My 3 year old also likes to climb on my back during push ups - I guess it is a form of weight training!!

The difference in your tummy is phenomenal - I might go and do another round in your honour!!

I actually think I want to do one more round of this, then we'll see. I still have lots of room for improvement, and I really like how quickly I can get through the workout and move on with my day.

the difference is amazing, you did a great job!

I can totally relate to the babies thinking work out time is time to climb on mummy, my 2yo loves to sit on me while doing push ups and crunches and my 4yo tries to do the work out too hehe.
I think i need to get my 30ds dvd out again, it has been quite a while.

The difference is amazing. And with that workout you earn every inch lost. But I have to say my fave pic was the one with your baby on you. ;) I know it's frustrating b/c I have little ones but sooooo stinkin' cute is that little diapered hiney in the air ;)

That is a very noticeable difference!! Great work! Your daughter is too cute. I know what it's like to have kids climbing all over you while trying to work out. My 3 year old sits on my back sometimes while I'm doing push-ups. (It helps that she is very petite for her age ;)

Great results! And love how you included the picture of your little one on you! My little boy does the same thing to my husband and I while we are working out. We call him our own little personal Jillian Michaels! :D
