I have been on MFP for about 3 weeks now but was dieting on my own for about a month before. Total I have lost 10.5 lbs in about 2 months time. I feel like it's coming off very slow but I know they say thats better for you and is easier to keep off if it comes off slow! This past week I gained 2 lbs to put me back at 8.5lb lost and am confused on how this happened lol! I did basically the same thing I have been doing for the past 2 months . The gain was very discouraging and im struggling with it! Has this happened to anyone else along the way? Total I want to lose 35-40 lbs and it seems so far away espically now after the gain! Anyone with similar weight loss goals how long has it taken you to lose?

Open your diary so we can see what you're eating and how much. You could be burning less than you think or eating more than you think. You also could be not eating enough. If you started with 1200 calories and working out and lost, that's great, but you may need to eat at a NET of 1200. (Net is calories you ate MINUS calories you burned.) Watch your sodium, you could be bloated - that's probably where the 2 lbs came from. You don't just gain 2 lbs of fat in a week - you can, but you'd have to eat 7,000 EXTRA calories.
