Looking for Advice on Foods

I have been using mfp since Jan. 10. In my first 50 days I lost 25 lbs. Tuesday marks day 70 and in the last 20 days I have only lost 3 more lbs. I am not one to complain since 28 lbs in 70 days is still amazing however I don't know what I changed, if anything or if maybe my body is just getting used to the change.

When we first started our change over to healthy eating we focused on no more soda, less processed foods, no fast food and portion control. I have tracked every day since.

I purchased a fitbit about 2 or so weeks into our new life-style and that helped open my eyes to how much time I spent on my butt! I am now actively working towards 5k min steps a day with my average being closer to 8k and a few times a week I get to 10k. I also bought a treadmill at the beginning of the year and use it at least 5 days a week for at least 30 minutes or 1-2 miles.

Recently we also changed over to more of a plant-based diet. We have not cut yogurt and cheese. This past week we even did a complete vegetarian diet. Moving forward it will be more along the lines of flexitarian, meaning when we eat meat (a couple times a week) it will be mostly chicken, fish & turkey being our primary meats with occasional pork and VERY VERY rarely red meat.

I know that I have done really well so again I don't want anyone to think I am complaining. I know that this is a life-style change not a diet and I look forward to a much healthier life to come but in the mean time anyone that is willing to look through my journals and make recommendations for things I can change or add as far as food or diet go would be much appreciated!

Thanks!

Most of the days I looked at other than your quick add calories which don't show what you're actually eating it was all processed foods, chips, ice cream, etc... I'd probably up the veggies and eat less chips... From what you've written though it sounds like you're doing really good and have made some great changes! I just got the fitbit too - it sure makes me feel guilty for just sitting on my butt too much! LOL!
  • Oh I should have mentioned that the quick adds are because my husband (Lordbezoar) is putting the recipe into his builder than just telling me how many calories they are

If anyone wants to look at my diary, it is available.
