Hello. I was just wondering, should you eat at least 1200 calories a day, or have a net of 1200 calories a day? I was wondering, because I tend to eat low calorie foods and exercise a lot. For example, my intake today was 1200-something, but I only have a net of around 100.

Your NET should be 1200.
If your net is 100, you are not going to lose weight. It would be nearly impossible. Your body will not let go of fat if it is only getting 100 calories/day to live on.0 -

Unless you have some big exception such as a metabolic disease or you're very short, then a net of 1200 is the general rule.0 -

just to add to the replies above, 1200 is considered a bare minimum for women. most will require a few hundred more than that for optimal well being.0

I wouldn't stop exercising. There's a host of health benefits that come with regular exercise. If you have trouble eating more then I would avoid "diet foods" which tend to be a lot of filler. Eat full-fat versions of foods; cook with healthy oils; try some almonds for snacks.0 -

Or even better you could eat more! Excercise is good! The best thing about excercising alot is you can eat alot more and still lose weight!0 -
