I have Grade 3 Osteoarthritis both knee's, torn meniscus both knee's and a torn ACL in my left knee. I had my left knee cleaned out 2 weeks ago to by me some more time to finish this weight loss.. (Will be getting total knee replacements this late winter) I lost 170 lbs. in the pool but once I was able to support my weight and got fitted with braces I began using the elliptical and have lost 133 lbs. using it in my workout routine. We have both standing and seated Elliptical at our YMCA so if my knee's are giving me fits on certain days I can do the seated which I can get a killer workout on too.... They are alot better for me than do the treadmill do to the bone on bone pain I deal with 24/7......

I use it for an hour 3 times a week. I make sure my stride count is over 8000 and calories burned is over 500. I keep increasing the incline and resistance level as my fitness improves. Right now I really hate it, but I believe it keeps my metabolism higher than when I don't do it.
