What kind of workouts are you doing?
Most back issues stem from bad form.

I've never heard of exercises that will weaken your muscles but you can create imbalances (eg doing tons of abs but no lower back). When you say you threw out your back is it a disc problem or a pulled muscle?

Tho i do have disc problems every time this has happened the drs tell me it is pulled muscles. All i know is that im in extreme pain feels like the disc is gone and its bone on bone. usually it lasts 4-5 days so surly its the muscle.

Unless you actually hurt yourself while exercising (which can happen if your form is off) this really just sounds like a coincidence. You could have had the same result bending over even if you hadn't been exercising.

If you have a weak back, make sure you are doing things to strengthen those muscles. If you work your abs, be sure to work the opposing muscle groups in the back.

If it is a pulled muscle, you may want to try yoga to stretch everything out when you are feeling better. When your hamstrings are tight, they pull on your lower back.

I have 2 herinated discs and was told I need a 2 level fusion. Not going there. I do yoga and my chiropractor gave me exercises to strengthen my lower back and abs. Supermans, bridges and crunches. Good luck and I hope you feel better.
